Can You Be a Slave and Still Have a Career Outside the House?
A lot of people assume submission means giving something up. Your independence, your ambitions, your career, all of it traded away for the dynamic. There's no single answer to this, it depends entirely on the Master and what he actually wants from you. But I can tell you what the answer is here. Yes, definitely. It's still something we'd talk through together, what your expectations are, what you actually want for your career, but the career itself was never the thing standing in the way.
Why the Answer Is Yes Here
Domus Cornelii is built around self-improvement, and for a lot of people a career is exactly that, a place to grow, get better at something, build real skill and confidence. I'm not going to ask you to give that up just because it happens outside the house. There's also more than one way to serve. Most of what we talk about here is domestic, ritual, protocol, presence, but financial service is real too. What you earn out there doesn't stop being part of what you give here, it just shows up differently.
The Dynamic Doesn't Pause When You Clock In
You're still owned at your desk, in a meeting, on a work trip, the same as you are at home. Nothing about that changes because of where you are or who you're with. It's just discreet. Nobody at your job needs to know, or would ever suspect anything, because none of it depends on being visible. It lives in your headspace, not in what anyone else can see. You can be entirely mine and entirely professional in the same hour, because the two were never actually in conflict.
What We Actually Talk About
Having a career doesn't mean we never discuss it. We talk about what it actually asks of you, what it asks of us, and where those things need to bend around each other. If a promotion means more travel, we talk about it. If the job is draining you in a way that's bleeding into everything else, we talk about that too. It's not about permission for every decision, it's about you not carrying any of it alone, the same way we'd talk through anything else that matters in this dynamic.
It Works the Other Way Too
And if a career isn't what you want at all, that's fine too. I'm not going to push you toward a job as proof you're independent enough, or as some box that needs checking. Some women want to build something outside the house, some want the house to be the thing they build. Both are real. I just want it to actually be yours, not something you picked because you assumed I'd expect it.
